Throughout history, artists have used their work to challenge societal norms and traditions as well as provoke thought. Some people believe that art should always aim to inspire and uplift, while others think it should confront and disrupt the status quo and stereotypes. What purpose do you think art should serve in society?

I believe art should inspire and uplift. In a world filled with challenges, art has the power to bring joy and hope to people who may need to escape from the pressures of everyday life. Art that is uplifting can improve a person’s mental health.
Paul
I think art should confront and disrupt long held but outdated traditions and norms. Art has the ability to provoke thought and challenge people to see things from different perspectives. By addressing societal issues, art can drive change and promote progress.
